Top 50 Armored Vehicle Recognition

Prepared by the U.S. Army's Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course, this collection consists of a photo and key recognition points for each of the top fifty tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, reconnaissance vehicles, and self-propelled artillery, vehicles from the United States as well as other major nations of the world. Each vehicle is described with a full page photo (approx 900px w x 700px h each) plus bullet points to help identify the vehicle and differentiate it from other similar models. The photo of the U.S. M47 Patton tank at the top of this page is from the collection, cropped and downsized to fit here.

The Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course is run by the Army Rangers at Ft. Benning, GA. The course trains leaders across the spectrum of U.S. Army infantry reconnaissance units and special operations forces. This collection is part of the military vehicle training task in the form of a 109 page PDF document (5.5MB download).
