HMMWV M-998 and Other Models

The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, pronounced hum-vee) has replaced jeeps and light trucks for most tactical missions and roles in the U.S. military. M997 HMMWV delivers a casualty to personnel of 86th Combat Support Hospital in southern Iraq during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, 5 Apr 2003.
TRUCK, AMBULANCE, 4-LITTER, M997A2.  The M997A2 HMMWV Ambulance replaced the M997 HMMWV variant. The M997A2 can carry four litter or eight ambulatory patients. These vehicles provide mobility for emergency situations and a quick link between battlefield casualties and emergency services not readily available on the front lines of battle.

TRUCK, AMBULANCE, 2-LITTER, SOFT TOP, M1035 HMMWV.  The M1035 is an ambulance variant of the M998 series of 1-1/4 ton trucks. It is a soft-top version that has no armor protection for the crew or patients. The vehicle is capable of transporting two litter patients and a heater is provided for patient comfort. Its chassis, mechanical components and general performance are the same as other models of the M998 series.
