M-126 Chassis, Semitrailer, 12-ton, 4-Wheel, From TM 43-0001-31, June 1985.

The M-126 semitrailer chassis series is the base for three semitrailers:

• M-127 Semitrailer, Stake/Flat Bed
• M-128 Semitrailer, Van, Cargo
• M-129 Semitrailer, Van, Supply

The M126 Chassis consisted of a pair of frame rails with a ladder of cross members to form the undercarriage. Landing gear along with the upper fifth wheel plate and kingpin are added to the frame. At the rear, two axles mounting four wheels with dual tires (total of eight tires) were fitted under a leaf spring suspension. Wiring, lighting, spare wheel mount, and brakes complete the chassis package.
