The M-883 Truck, Cargo, 1 1/4 ton, 4x4 w/28v, 60-Amp and S250 Communications Shelter Tie-Down Kit (NSN 2320-00-579-8959) is a model of the M880 Dodge Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicles (CUCV) series of trucks. The Truck, Cargo, 1 1/4 ton, 4x4 M-883 is not visually distinct from the M880 cargo truck except for the S250 shelter kit installed in the cargo box. The shelter is secured with tie down straps. The only other significant difference is the installed 24 volt, 60-Amp Generator Kit. The M883 vehicle has auxiliary rear springs installed.
