Other HMMWV Options and Information

The HMMWV has spawned an industry to supply upgrades, spares, manuals, and services for both the military and civilian versions. For the operations in Afghanistan and Iraq in the 2000s the supply of up-armor kits, gun shields, and other combat modifications became a large business of its own. This page provides information and links to a selection of HMMWV resources. See also the sections on HMMWV Military Parts and HMMWV Internet Resources.

HMMWV dimensions

For a comprehensive description of the mechanical aspects of the civilian Hummer, check out this page at Off-Road.com. In the December 1998 issue of Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road magazine (page 70) is an article about the differences between the civilian Hummer and the military HMMWV. Lots of photos make this interesting and informative.

Olive-Drab.com has the whole story on military vehicle camouflage patterns. The NATO 3 color camo pattern for the HMMWV is included in the downloads available in that section.

For advice on how to obtain original military manuals and other publications for the HMMWV, read the Olive-Drab.com section on Military Vehicle Books and Manuals.
