This dramatic poster was used by the U.S. Treasury to motivate purchases of War Bonds in 1944. The patriotic flag image is combined with the strong but battered soldier to make the point that the men in uniform are making sacrifices for the country and the civilians have to help by digging deep to buy more bonds. It was printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office.
