This photo was taken by a U.S. Army photographer on 20 May 1966 during Operation Wahiawa in Vietnam.

From the original caption: "Members of the 4th Bn., 23rd Regt., 25th Inf Div, are helped aboard a dust-off helicopter for evacuation from a firefight with the Viet Cong during Operation Wahiawa, north of Cu Chi."
