This dramatic color photo is dated 30 April 2001 and shows Marines preparing to off-load a shipment of 48 HMMWVs (High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles) at an Australian military base in Rockhampton, Queensland.

The Marines, the HMMWVs, and other equipment were in Australia for Operation Tandem Thrust, a combined U.S., Canadian, and Australian exercise involving more than 18,000 troops.
