This photo was taken in the Haktong-ni area of Korea, 28 August 1950. In the photo an American soldier comforts a grief-stricken infantryman whose buddy had been killed in action. In the background, a corpsman methodically fills out casualty forms.

This photo has appeared in many Korean War histories both as you see it here and reversed. Unfortunately the casualties of the Korean War have never gotten the recognition of the fallen from other American wars.
