M911 Truck, Tractor, C-HET, 8x6The M911 Commercial, Heavy Equipment Transporter (C-HET) was based on the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Oshkosh F2365, modified for military requirements. The M911 was type classified in 1977. After an initial contract to Oshkosh for 747 vehicles, additional M911 C-HETs were acquired for a total of about 1200 vehicles.
M911 Truck, Tractor, C-HET, 8x6The M911 C-HET full nomenclature was Truck, Tractor, Commercial, Heavy Equipment Transporter (C-HET), 85,000 GVWR, 8X6, M911 22-1/2 Ton Tractor, NSN 2320-01-025-3733.
